Team Workspace

Share redacted, optionally end-to-end encrypted captures with your team as a link, with roles, scopes and automatic deletion.

Mac

Team Workspace is where a capture goes when someone else needs to see it. Share a flow, a selection or a whole session from WireLens for Mac, and your team opens it in a browser at workspace.wirelens.app, or in their own copy of WireLens.

Capture itself stays local. Nothing leaves your Mac until you share it.

What you need#

  • A Team Cloud plan. Team Cloud is sold per person at pay.wirelens.app, and each teammate who uploads from WireLens gets their own license key.
  • To use Team Workspace inside WireLens, an activated Team Cloud key on that Mac.
  • To use the browser dashboard, only an email address. Viewers and admins can work entirely in the browser.

Team Workspace uses email sign-in links, with no passwords.

  • In the browser, enter your email at workspace.wirelens.app and open the link we send.
  • In WireLens, open Capture ▸ Team Workspace… and sign in. The link can be opened on any device, your phone included; WireLens picks up the approval on its own. The session token is kept in your Keychain.

A link is sent only to an address that holds Team Cloud seats, has a pending invitation, or already belongs to a workspace.

Share a capture#

Choose Share to Team Workspace… from a flow's context menu, the File menu, a host or app in the sidebar, or the Sessions window. Then set:

OptionChoices
Who can open itPrivate: you and admins. Workspace: every member. Selected: you, admins and the people you pick. Public: anyone with the link, no sign-in.
RedactionOn by default. Authorization, Cookie and Set-Cookie are removed, plus any headers you add, on your Mac before upload.
End-to-end encryptionOptional. The log is encrypted with AES-256-GCM on your Mac. The key rides in the link after the #, which browsers never send to a server, or you can set a passphrase and share it separately.
Delete afterNever, 1, 7, 30 or 90 days.

You get a link to copy, such as workspace.wirelens.app/l/k3v9q2. Short links like wirelens.app/l/k3v9q2 work too.

Open a shared log#

  • In the browser, the viewer is a two-pane inspector: a filterable list, then headers, query, request and response bodies, cookies and timing, with JSON formatting, image previews, Copy as cURL and download. Encrypted logs are decrypted in the browser.
  • In WireLens, Open in WireLens downloads the log, decrypts it if needed, and imports it as its own capture session.

Roles#

RoleCan
AdminManage members and invitations, billing, settings and activity; see and manage every log
DeveloperUpload logs; edit and delete their own; view what each log's scope allows
ViewerView what each log's scope allows, in the browser, with no license needed

A Developer invitation assigns one of the workspace's unused Team Cloud keys to that person. Admins and Viewers use no key, so a five-seat purchase can invite five Developers while the person who bought it manages everything from the browser.

Storage and plan state#

  • Each workspace has 10 GB of storage. A single upload can be up to 100 MB.
  • If the Team Cloud subscription lapses, the workspace becomes read-only: members can still sign in, view, download and delete, but not upload or invite.
  • Buy more seats at pay.wirelens.app. Admins see seats in use under Seats & billing.
  • Admins see sign-ins, invitations, role changes and log changes under Activity.

Security#

  • Credentials are redacted before upload by default.
  • End-to-end encrypted logs cannot be read by us: the key never reaches our servers.
  • The dashboard runs with a strict Content Security Policy and never renders a log's content as HTML.
  • WireLens talks to Team Workspace over a connection that bypasses your own capture, so its traffic never passes through a proxy, including WireLens.
